Humboldt County Transition Age Youth Collaboration (HCTAYC) & Youth Advocacy Board (YAB)

HCTAYC works to empower youth because it understands young people are experts in the systems that impact them, and this expertise is vital in system transformation. HCTAYC helps to foster and build skills in the areas of youth development, policy change, youth advocacy, community engagement and wellness. HCTAYC provides training to youth, staff and community partners related to more effectively engaging youth and developing youth-informed approaches.

The Youth Advocacy Board (YAB) is a program for youth, ages 16 to 26, with a primary focus on youth with experience in foster care, juvenile justice, behavioral health, or homelessness. The YAB is also involved in secondary focus areas, meaning issues that intersect with and influence the primary focus areas of our organization. Members of the YAB are stipended volunteers. Boys Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Redwoods

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Redwoods is a youth development program for youth ages 6 to 18. All of our sites offer a safe place for these children to learn, play and develop citizenship and leadership skills. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of our members by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and a power of influence, which is the Youth Development Strategy of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
